My uncle - John Harlan Stickell joined the RCAF prior to Pearl Harbor and flew 40 plus missions mostly over Germany. He holds DFC & DSO. After completing all the missions he could fly in England, he joined the US Navy and flew fighter planes. He was killed in action in 1943 and has a destroyer the USS Stickell named after him and an airfield on an island in the pacific named after him. Anyone knowing him, or of him, I would like to hear from.
