I would like to communicate with anyone who might have known my uncle, Larry D'Amato. Larry was in the 22nd Bomb Group, 19th Bomb Squadron as a radio tail gunner, he flew in 50 or more missions.|
I don't have specifics for any of the missions, however,I believe he was stationed in New Guinea from July 43-March 44. His flight jacket indicated he was there during the Silver Fleet era and the back of the jacket indicates a ship named Gallopin' Ghost.
He may have also flown in ship#01488 and his first mission may have been in ship #01491. If anyone may have known Larry or flew with him I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thank You...John D'amato
