I have been looking for the family of Robert Snip as well, with the help of Cy Klimesh. My father, S/Sgt Joseph Piszczek, was radio operator on Snip's B-25 "Flying Fanny" and a crewmate of your father, Frank. My father was killed in March 1944 while flying on a B-24 with another pilot and crew.|
Cy Klimesh confirms that sometime between July and Nov 1944, Lt. Snip (by then piloting a B-24) was flying a courier run from Owi to Nadzab when the plane disappeared without a trace. He and all his crew were presumed killed.
I can tell you that Lt. Snip was originally from Chicago and that his wife's name is Betsy, but that is as much as I know.
I'm very sorry for the loss of your father. I know you are as proud of him as I am of mine. I would love to hear from you.
