My uncle, Robert (Bud) J. Sutton, recently passed away. He suffered from alzheimers disease and never talked about the time he spent in the 408th bomber squadron, 22nd bomber group with members of his family prior to his diagnosis or his death.

My family would appreciate any information about my uncle that anyone could give, time spent with him, copied photographs, personal stories about my uncle, anything that would help us know more about the time that he spent in training and overseas.

We know the following:

He attained the rank of S Sgt.
He flew either 32 or 33 missions
He was on a plane (B-25) with 11 men which was shot down during a bombing run on Japan. Four men survived the crash.
Of the four that survived one was a twin, the other twin died in the crash.

Any information could either be e-mailed to myself or passed along to his sister. Her name, address and phone number are:

We would gladly pay any photocopy expenses that might arise. Thank you for your time and thank you to the people who make this website possible.

Sincerely,

Rod Engle
