If you don't want to wait 6 months or even longer just take your list of medals (awards) and order them online. If you know someone in the military have them buy them at the clothing sales store on post. Several years ago medals were not sold but now the goverment allows the sale of all medals except for one, the Medal of Honor. The are made by several commerical companies and are of the same quality and type the government will contract for. Medals cost anywhere from $5-$25 each. Keep in mind discharge records for some vets are not always accurate as certain medals weren't even produced when the vet was discharged. So they are not listed on the records. Good Luck
